Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Divya Disha mobile application ("the app", "we", "us") handles your information. The app is a fully offline devotional companion — shlokas, panchang, mala counter, puja guides, and temple stories — and we design it to collect as little personal information as possible.

1. Information we do not collect

We do not collect:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials.
• Your physical location, GPS coordinates, or precise device location.
• Your contacts, calendar, photos, microphone, or camera.
• Any content you read, count, or bookmark inside the app.

Your mala counts, bookmarks, language preference, theme, font size, and dosha quiz result are stored only on your device using the device's local storage. They never leave your phone.

2. Information collected by Google AdMob

The app displays a single banner advertisement using Google AdMob. To serve relevant ads and measure ad performance, AdMob collects certain technical information automatically:

• Advertising identifier (AAID) — a resettable, anonymous ID unique to your device. You can reset or disable this from your Android settings at any time.
• IP address — used to determine approximate country/region so ads can be localized, and for fraud prevention.
• Device information — device model, OS version, language, network type, and screen dimensions.
• Ad interaction data — whether an ad was shown, viewed, or tapped.

Data collection by AdMob is governed by Google's own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. We do not have access to your individual advertising data; we only see aggregated performance reports in the AdMob console.

3. Your ad consent choices

On first launch the app shows Google's consent form if you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or a region with similar privacy regulation (such as California under the CCPA/CPRA). You can choose between personalized ads, non-personalized ads, or (where offered) opt out of ads that use your data for personalization.

Changing your choice later

Open the app, tap Settings, and select Ad preferences. This opens Google's consent management form, where you can change your selection at any time. The change takes effect on the next ad request.

If the Ad preferences row is not visible, it means your region does not require a consent selection under current regulations.

4. Children's privacy

Divya Disha is intended for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app and you wish to request deletion of any data Google AdMob may have collected, contact us at the email address below and we will help you initiate that request with Google.

5. Permissions the app requests

The app declares the following Android permissions:

• com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID — read the device's advertising identifier so AdMob can serve ads. You can opt out by going to Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — optional. Only requested if you enable prahara reminders in the Dina Charya screen. Used to show local daily devotional reminders. You can revoke this anytime in Android app settings.

The app does not request internet permissions beyond what AdMob and local notifications require, and it does not access contacts, calendars, camera, microphone, or location.

6. Data retention

• On-device data (mala counts, bookmarks, settings) remains until you uninstall the app or clear its data from Android settings.
• AdMob retains advertising data according to Google's retention policy, which you can review in the Google privacy policy linked above.

7. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA)

If you reside in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or California, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information that has been collected about you.
• Request correction or deletion of your personal information.
• Withdraw consent for personalized advertising at any time (via the in-app Ad preferences).
• Object to processing or request restriction.
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

Because the app itself does not collect personal data, requests regarding advertising data should be directed to Google via Google's privacy request form. We will assist with questions; contact details below.

8. Security

All network communication from the app (limited to ad-serving by Google AdMob) is encrypted with HTTPS. On-device storage is sandboxed by Android. We do not transmit your app-usage data, reading history, or bookmarks to any server.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's release notes on the Play Store.
